The 16th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), sponsored by IEEE Singapore Industrial Electronics Section, Southwest Jiaotong University and IEEE Singapore Section, was successfully held online from Aug. 2-4.
The conference is financially and technically supported by IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, with more than 100 renowned scientists and young scholars from international and domestic universities and research institutes attending the conference. The conference focuses on cutting-edge research and development in artificial intelligence, control and systems, information physical systems, energy and environment, industrial informatics and computational intelligence, robotics, networking and communication technologies, power electronics, signal and information processing.
Conference Chair, Dr. Wenxiang Xie, and Prof. Xiaoqiong He, Southwest Jiaotong University, respectively delivered opening speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Jingbing Zhang, the financial chair of the conference.
Dr. Wenxiang Xie, stated that ICIEA has made significant progress since the first conference in 2006, and the conference has provided a good platform for scholars in various fields to communicate and add momentum to the technological progress of industrial electronics.
Prof. Xiaoqiong He extended a warm welcome to all the participants and invited all the experts and scholars to come together in Chengdu, China, next year for the 17th conference.
The conference presentation session was chaired by Professor Changyun Wen of Nanyang Technological University.
Professor Gaurav Sharma from the University of Rochester, USA, gave a keynote presentation on "Leveraging Old Tricks in A New World: Efficient Generation of Labeled Data for Deep Learning".
There were 59 sessions of technical presentations and 361 oral presentations to present the latest papers and research results, and the videos of the oral presentations recorded in advance by the authors were publicly displayed in each online session. The best paper oral presentation session of the conference was chaired by Dr. Xing Zhu, and six best papers were selected, namely.
Xiwen Wang, from Shandong University, A Distributed Fusion LSTM Model to Forecast Temperature and Relative Humidity in Smart Buildings; Jundao Mo, from South China Normal University, Modeling and Mitigating LED Nonlinearity using Nonlinear ARX model with Wavelet Networks; Xinyao Li, from Nanyang Technological University, Backstepping-Based Adaptive Control for Uncertain Fractional-Order Nonlinear Systems; Yingrui Liu, from Yanshan University, Power Flow Flexible Operation Analysis for Series-Parallel Architecture Region Energy Router; Jingmeng Liu, from Beihang University, Structural Design of A Novel Electromagnetic Driven Spherical Motion Generator; Yong Tang, from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, A Novel Method of Open Circuit Voltage Reconstruction for LiFePO4 Battery based on Incremental Capacity Analysis.
The success of the 16th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications is of great significance in enhancing the communication and cooperation among researchers in the field of industrial electronics. The academic research and innovation results presented at the conference will inject new momentum into the future development of industrial electronics. Besides, all the experts and scholars of this conference are looking forward to the 17th conference to be held offline in Chengdu, China, as scheduled, to talk about cutting-edge technologies and promote innovation in the field.
