On the occasion of May Fourth Youth Day, Professor Hu Haitao, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, was awarded the 21st Railway Youth May Fourth Medal.

In the afternoon of April 29, 2022, Southwest Jiaotong University held a conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China and to commend the work of the Youth League in 2022. Professor Hu Haitao, as a representative of young teachers, shared his own down-to-earth, realistic and pragmatic struggle to join the railway industry. In the absence of field data and test equipment, he led the team to develop network synchronous electrical monitoring equipment, successively organized more than 20 train sets and more than 100 traction substations of a large number of joint test work. He has also presided over a number of scientific research projects and reaped many academic honours. In his speech, Prof. Hu Haitao issued an initiative, hoping that the youths will continue to be dreamers and live up to the times and their youth, helping China's high-speed rail to run at an accelerated pace in the new era and making this "Chinese name card" shine brighter on the world stage.
